Thrillist, which describes itself as “Digital Lifestyle for men – Everything worth caring about in food, drink, and travel,” but which seems to be a food porn site, didn’t bother me when I visited their home page. But as soon as I clicked to read an article about Rita’s, the Philadelphia area water ice chain, I got this:

This was a pretty aggressive nag. I couldn’t block it with Ghostery at all. Adblock plus blocked the nag itself but not the shaded overly. Adblock nuked the shaded overly, but also removed the ability to scroll.

So I don’t recommend going to Thrillist under any circumstances.
